Their thirteen years in the medical field as a Patient Care Technician and Phlebotomist shaped their steady, compassionate approach—offering care that feels calm, grounding, and safe for clients who may feel anxious or vulnerable. 🖤🦇 They have a deep appreciation for makeup in all its forms—special occasion, dramatic, drag, and SFX. Anne also offers waxing and tinting services, creating an experience that feels welcoming, comfortable, and just a touch atmospheric. Private, sensory-friendly, and silent appointments are always available for clients who prefer a quieter space. 🕯️ As a stylist, Anne is fascinated by the science and health of hair. Their strengths include vivid color, blonding, highlights, cutting, and barbering. After assisting a blonding specialist for a year, they developed a strong foundation in advanced color techniques. They enjoy clipper cuts, fades, and modern, edgy styles—always treating curls and textured hair with care. ✂️🦇 Anne specializes in transformative color work, including vivids, balayage, highlights, and global blonding. They excel in rainbow blends, ombrés, color blocking, and hand-painted techniques. Calico hair and oil-slick rainbows are personal favorites for their depth, contrast, and subtle hint of mystery. 🌑✨ As a makeup artist, Anne works across a wide spectrum—from natural and gender-affirming looks to cosplay, drag, alternative, and SFX styles. No matter the project, their goal remains the same: to help every client feel confident, supported, and beautifully themselves. 🖤⚰️ *Hair Policy: Magpie’s Mirror (Anne) requires all color clients to read and sign the Color Disclosure Agreement. Magpie’s Mirror requires a nonrefundable deposit on all color appointments. The deposit goes toward the client’s final total balance. This deposit is used to keep their date. In the event a client needs to reschedule, the client needs to let Anne know at least 48 hours in advance. Less than 48 hour notice will result in a void deposit and could be subjected to a cancellation fee. client will be required to put down another to reschedule. Clients must directly communicate with Anne to cancel/reschedule. Calling the salon will NOT be considered a valid cancel. No Call/No Show appointments will be charged 100% of the scheduled service. A card on file will be charged. In the event the card declines, clients will not be allowed to schedule a new appointment until previous appointment is paid. Anne highly encourages buying professional grade aftercare products from them directly to properly maintain haircolor. If this is not done, Anne can not guarantee the client’s haircolor. Any issues or problems with color must be brought up within one week (7 Days) or I cannot offer a courtesy correction. courtesy Corrections cannot be done by any other stylist inside the salon. All services are nonrefundable & any prepayment of services is strictly unaccepted/nonrefundable. Paying/tipping for your service in cash/venmo is highly encouraged, but credit cards & cash are also accepted. Clients arriving more than 15 mins late may be subject to losing their deposit and be forced to reschedule. All haircuts have 7 days to address any discrepancies. *Cosmetic Tattooing/Permanent Makeup Policy: Magpie’s Mirror (Anne) requires all permanent makeup and cosmetic tattoo appointments to sign all waivers and medical history to the best of the clients knowledge. Clients must be 18 years or older. Magpie’s Mirror requires a NON-REFUNDABLE retainer/deposit on all appointments. The retainer/deposit goes toward the client’s final total balance. This retainer/deposit is used to keep their date and appointment time agreed upon. In the event a client needs to reschedule, the client needs to let Anne know at least 48 hours in advance directly at (313)626-7225. Less than 48 hour notice will result in a void retainer/deposit and could be subjected to a cancellation fee. client will be required to put down another deposit to reschedule. Appointments are considered NO CALL/NO SHOW after 15 minutes past the appointment time without any communication. All no call/no shows will be charged the cancellation fee up to 100% of services scheduled. Communication needs to be directly with Anne. Cancellation Policy
If an appointment needs to be rescheduled, I require 48 hours notice (2 days) before the beginning of your appointment. All deposits are non-refundable. All reschedules that are within my cancellation policy timeframe must happen within 7 days or the deposit is voided. Cancellations made after 48 hours will void client’s deposit and client may be subjected to a cancellation fee equal to 100% of services scheduled. A card on file will be charged. In the event the card declines, clients will not be allowed to schedule a new appointment until previous appointment is paid and could be subject to litigation for collection.
